Well, it's official: I am a member of the University of Oxford. Despite paying them an inordinate amount of tuition fees and starting classes, I was not "officially" a member of the University until Matriculation. Matriculation is an event where all the students dress up in sub fusc (you'll love these pics), go into the Sheldonian Theater (a ridiculously beautiful old - 1644- building designed by Christopher Wren - also see pics below), and listen to the Vice Chancellor speak some Latin and then welcome us to Oxford. I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty freaking cool to participate in this tradition. There is something so special and mysterious about this place and its traditions. I dig it.

Approaching the Sheldonian...
In case you're curious what the ceremony was like (sans the Latin part, so you won't fall asleep)...
